The Exploris One is heading to auction online as part of Exploris Expeditions & Cruises’ liquidation proceedings.

Interested parties are able to place bids for the expedition vessel on Interencheres, a France-based marketplace for auctions.

According to the website, the 132-guest ship is being offered for sale by auction house Ouest Enchères Publiques of Nantes.

Bids will be accepted through 7:00 AM (French time) on January 30, 2026.

While a minimum bid was not disclosed, the sale will be subject to a 14 percent premium in court proceedings.

Interencheres’ website stated that parties can arrange visits onboard the vessel, which is currently docked at the port of Caen in Northern France.

Out of service since late 2025, the Exploris One was initially put up for sale through a court-supervised bidding process.

French authorities intended to complete the sale by late November, with profits directed toward paying Exploris’ debts to former financial partners.

The 6,130-ton vessel was in service for Exploris Expeditions & Cruises when the company was placed into administration in early October.

Cruise Industry News, the cruise line was later liquidated by order of the Nantes Commercial Court.

Built at the Rauma-Repola shipyard in Finland, the Exploris One originally entered service in 1989 and sailed for a range of cruise lines before being acquired by Exploris in 2023.

Extensively refurbished over the years, the vessel was set to undergo scheduled maintenance at a shipyard in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria when the company folded.

While work could not be completed, the ship was able to return to France ahead of Exploris’ actual liquidation.

Before shutting down, the company was planning to operate the vessel on a series of expedition cruises in Antarctica during the 2025-26 season.

In addition to Silversea and Exploris, the Exploris One also sailed for Society Expeditions, Sally Line and more.
