Adora Cruises is launching two special Lunar New Year-themed cruises to welcome the Year of the Horse, the company announced in a press release.
The cruises will sail during the 2026 Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year) timeframe onboard the Adora Magic City and the Adora Mediterranea.
As part of the celebratory lineup, the Magic City will sail from Shanghai on Feb. 16, 2026, for a five-night cruise to South Korea that will take guests to Incheon and Jeju.
The Mediterranea is scheduled to kick off its Lunar New Year-themed cruise from Guangzhou on Feb. 17, 2026. The five-night itinerary sails to Vietnam, visiting Chan May and Cam Ranh.
According to Adora, the cruises will “deeply integrate traditional New Year customs with intangible cultural heritage experiences,” featuring a series of special activities.
Both ships will also be decorated for the New Year to create a festive atmosphere onboard, the company continued.
On New Year’s Eve, the Adora Magic City will host countdown events in various styles, allowing guests to welcome the Year of the Horse with special performances and interactive games.
On the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year, guests onboard the ship can gather on deck to witness the first sunrise of the year and participate in a solemn flag-raising ceremony.
The Adora Mediterranea lineup includes special presentations from Huang Minyan, a representative inheritor of Foshan Colorful Lanterns, and Liu Zhongping, a representative inheritor of Foshan Woodblock New Year Prints.
Guests will be able to watch the professionals make mini colorful lanterns or hand-print New Year pictures.
“Through the deep integration of cruise and culture, we are bringing traditional New Year customs and intangible cultural heritage experiences onto our ships,” Adora Cruises stated.
“This enriches the cultural significance of our themed voyages, allowing guests to feel the charm of traditional Chinese culture while enjoying family reunions. At the same time, we hope to use the unique platform of cruise ships to further promote the spread of Chinese culture.”
Adora added that bookings for the special sailings opened on Jan. 13, 2026, and are available via different booking channels.
