MSC Cruises has announced that it is bringing live-to-film “Dirty Dancing: In Concert” to the Poesia for her debut in Alaska, starting May 11, 2026.

The company said that the MSC Poesia will become the third ship in the fleet to feature the live-to-film concert created by Lionsgate and GEA Live.

This follows the concert’s introduction aboard the MSC World America sailing from Miami in the U.S. and on the MSC Virtuosa for her summer voyages from Southampton in the UK and the winter season in the Southern Caribbean.

MSC said in a press release that the 90-minute live-to-film concert brings the 1980s film “Dirty Dancing” to life and features a live band, singers and dancers who perform in sync with the movie.

VP Entertainment at MSC Cruises, Steve Leatham, said: “We are thrilled to have ‘Dirty Dancing: In Concert’ onboard the MSC Poesia for MSC Cruises’ first-ever sailings to Alaska this summer season.”

“Following the incredible response we have seen since the launch on the MSC World America and MSC Virtuosa, we’re excited to be able to offer it on more of our ships for our guests to enjoy this truly one-of-a-kind experience at sea,” added Leatham.

The MSC Poesia will also offer other musical options during the Alaska sailings, including live dueling pianos, jazz, party bands, salsa and Latin music groups.

Themed parties and activities will also take place, along with an expanded theater lineup featuring U.S. comedians and large-scale shows.

The ship will host talks, events, and workshops to highlight Alaska’s geography and nature, as well as arts and crafts workshops, wellness sessions and sports activities.

The MSC Poesia is set to undergo one of the most significant upgrades in MSC Cruises’ history ahead of her Alaska sailings, including the addition of the MSC Yacht Club, two specialty restaurants (Butcher’s Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar), a sports bar, a newly refreshed spa and an enhanced gym.

The ship will homeport in Seattle for summer 2026 and offer seven-night sailings, including the Alaskan destinations of Ketchikan, Icy Strait Hoonah, Tracy Arm and Juneau, plus Victoria in British Columbia, Canada.
