StarCruises has announced that guests can look forward to popular local durians from Malaysia and Medan during the Star Voyager’s sailings to Medan and Kuala Lumpur (via Port Klang).

The tasting experiences will be offered to guests on select departures until February 5, 2026.

“Durian is more than just a fruit in this region; it is part of the local culture and identity,” said Michael Goh, president at StarDream Cruises.

“By bringing curated durian experiences on the ship and directly from the port of each destination, we are giving our guests an authentic taste of Medan and Malaysia in a convenient and memorable way, further enhancing the overall cruise journey onboard Star Voyager,” added Goh.

The company said in a press release that for three-night cruises departing from either Singapore or Kuala Lumpur (via Port Klang) with Medan as a port of call, guests will enjoy a complimentary local durian tasting on the ship while in port in Medan.

Participation is subject to advance onboard registration and ticket collection, with limited slots available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Guests departing from Singapore on January 18, 25, and February 1 on the four-night Kuala Lumpur (via Port Klang) to Phuket cruise can also look forward to a Durian feast on the ship while at Port Klang.

The program is complemented by the chance to savor Klang’s famous Bak Kut Teh, followed by transfers to AEON Mall for shopping.
