MSC Cruises cancelled a sailing onboard the MSC Poesia that was scheduled to depart from the British port of Southampton on February 13, 2026.
According to a statement sent to booked guests, the cruise will no longer go ahead due to “operational reasons.”
Concluding a winter season in Northern Europe, the MSC Poesia was scheduled to embark on a repositioning voyage to the Mediterranean.
The ten-night cruise featured visits to destinations in Spain, Portugal and Italy before ending in Valletta, Malta.
“Regrettably, due to operational reasons affecting the deployment of the MSC Poesia, we have had to cancel the scheduled cruise,” MSC stated.
“We fully understand the time and care you have invested in planning your holiday, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause,” the company added.
MSC stated that a full refund of the fare paid will be processed shortly, noting that proven out-of-pocket expenses strictly related to the cancelled cruise, including flights, will also be refunded.
“In addition, as a gesture of goodwill, we are pleased to offer a Future Cruise Credit equal to 50 percent of the cruise fare paid for the cancelled sailing,” the company added.
Currently sailing in Northern Europe, the MSC Poesia is offering a series of seven-night cruises to destinations in England, Germany, the Netherlands, France and Belgium.
The 2,550-guest vessel will become the next ship in the company’s Musica-class series to undergo a major refurbishment project.
Following the MSC Magnifica, the 2008-built vessel will enter drydock at the Palumbo Shipyard in Malta to get new features like MSC Yacht Club.
The ship-within-a-ship complex will feature larger suites, in addition to private areas, such as a restaurant, a lounge and a pool deck.
In 2026, the Poesia will mark MSC’s debut in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest as part of a summer season out of Seattle.
