The World Odyssey recently departed from Bangkok, Thailand, to kick off Semester at Sea’s 2026 Spring Voyage.
According to an update shared by the company, the vessel is now offering a world cruise with 484 students from 174 educational institutions.
Other passengers onboard include 24 lifelong learners, as well as 28 faculty members and 32 academic and non-academic staff members.
As part of SAS’s 137th voyage, the guests will sail a 106-day itinerary that features visits to 11 cities in ten countries across three continents.
Most of the students and faculty members hail from the United States, with all of 50 states and Puerto Rico represented.
Guests from other 26 countries are also onboard, including significant groups from Canada, India, Costa Rica, Mexico, Portugal and Spain.
Semester at Sea also stated that $3.3 million was awarded in ISE financial aid, helping roughly 325 students.
While most of the students onboard are white, other ethnicities represented onboard include American Indian, Alaskan Native, Pacific Islander, Asian, Black and Multiracial.
In line with average numbers for U.S. students abroad, nearly 85 percent of the learners onboard the World Odyssey are female.
After sailing from Bangkok, the 1998-built ship is set to visit eight additional destinations before arriving in Bremerhaven, Germany, in April.
The itinerary initially sails to Southeast Asia, with planned stops in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and Penang in Malaysia.
The World Odyssey is then set to visit Cochin in India before arriving in Africa for visits to Mombasa in Kenya and Cape Town in South Africa.
Other ports set to be visited include Tema and Takoradi in Ghana, as well as Tangier in Morocco and La Coruña in Spain.
Once in Germany, the World Odyssey is scheduled to kick off its farewell summer season for Phoenix Reisen.
