According to the latest edition of the Cruise Ship Secondhand Market Report by Cruise Industry News, various cruise ships are moving to new homes in 2026.
Here are some key ownership changes scheduled for the year:
Ideal (ex-Costa Magica)

New Home: Tianjin Oriental International Cruise Line

Year Built: 2004
Debut Date: Q1 2026
After being sold off by Seajets, the former Costa Magica is set to launch service for Tianjin Oriental International Cruise Line in early 2026.
Set to become one of the largest ships owned by a national brand in China, the 2,720-guest ship will offer cruises departing from Tianjin as the Ideal starting in February.
Cordelia Sky (ex-Norwegian Sky)

New Home: Cordelia Cruises
Capacity: 2,000 guests
Tonnage: 77,104
Year Built: 1999
Debut Date: Q3 2026
Currently one of the oldest ships in Norwegian Cruise Line’s fleet, the Norwegian Sky will soon find a new home with India-based Cordelia Cruises.
Acquired by the brand along with the Norwegian Sun, the 1999-built vessel will debut for Cordelia in late 2026, kicking off a series of short cruises departing from Mumbai.
Star Explorer (ex-World Explorer)

New Home: Windstar Cruises
Capacity: 200 guests

Debut Date: Q3 2026
The World Explorer is set to join Windstar Cruises’ fleet in late 2026 after undergoing a refurbishment project in Portugal.
Acquired from Mystic Cruises in early 2024, the 200-guest ship is currently in service for Quark Expeditions and will launch a year-round cruising schedule in Europe.
Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber (ex-Costa Fortuna)

New Home: Margaritaville at Sea

Debut Date: Q1 2027
The Costa Fortuna is being delivered to Margaritaville at Sea in late 2026.
Set to become the Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber, the 103,000-ton vessel will undergo a major modernization project before debuting for the U.S.-based brand in January 2027.
Mitsui Ocean Sakura (ex-Seabourn Sojourn)

New Home: Mitsui Ocean Cruises

The Seabourn Sojourn will join one of its sister ships, the former Seabourn Odyssey, in Mitsui Ocean Cruises’ fleet in Japan.
Renamed Mitsui Ocean Sakura, the 450-guest ship will see the addition of Japan-inspired features and public areas before debuting in September 2026.
Vestland Adventurer
Former Operator: G Adventures
New Home: Vestland Classic Cruises

Debut Date: Q2 2026
After being retired by G Adventures, the former Expedition reportedly found a new home in Vestland Classic Cruises.
According to the company’s website, the 1972-built vessel is scheduled to offer itineraries in Northern Europe starting in summer 2026.
