The Amadea recently departed from the German port of Bremerhaven for Phoenix Reisen’s 146-night world voyage.

As part of the “Great Circumnavigation of the World,” the 1991-built ship will sail to a wide range of destinations in the Northern Hemisphere.

The cruise starts with visits to destinations in Europe and the Atlantic before arriving in the Caribbean and Central America.

Ports of call for this segment include Cadiz and Santa Cruz de La Palma, as well as St. Kitts, St. Barths, Antigua and El Salvador.

The Amadea is then set to transit the Panama Canal for destinations in the Mexican Riviera, California and Hawaii.

The world voyage continues with stops in Micronesia, the Marshall Islands and the Mariana Islands before arriving in the Far East.

Before heading to Southeast Asia, the Amadea is scheduled to sail to ports in Japan, Taiwan, China and the Philippines.

On its way back to Europe, the vessel is also scheduled to visit ports in Malaysia, Brunei, Sri Lanka and India. The final leg of the cruise sails around Africa with stops in South Africa and then theCanary Islands.

The nearly five-month journey comes to an end at the port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in mid May.

The Amadea is one of three ships set to offer world cruises for Phoenix Reisen during the 2025-26 winter season.

While the Amera also sailed from Germany in December for a 134-night journey, the Artania is set to embark on a South America-focused journey in January.

In related news, Phoenix Reisen recently announced plans to withdraw the Deutschland from its fleet in 2026.

The 1991-built vessel will offer a farewell season for the brand during the summer of 2026 before being retired in early September.

Originally built for Peter Deilman Reederei, the 520-guest ship was operating for Phoenix Reisen under a seasonal charter agreement.
