MSC Cruises has completed a major refurbishment of the MSC Magnifica at the Palumbo shipyard in Malta and the ship has now started her winter sailings in the Mediterranean Sea ahead of the vessel’s 132-day world cruise that starts in January.

The two-month drydock included the addition of two new specialty dining venues: Butcher’s Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar, as well as a redesigned spa and Technogym fitness center featuring a new barber salon, new workout studios, and an expanded outdoor Aurea area.

The line’s ship-within-a-ship, concept, the MSC Yacht Club will be added for the summer 2026 season when the Magnifica sails her Northern Europe itineraries from Warnemunde in Germany.

Sister ship the MSC Poesia will enter drydock at the same shipyard in February 2026 for similar upgrades, including the addition of a 69-suite MSC Yacht Club, a new sports bar, and the same specialty restaurants, spa, and gym enhancements. The work will be done ahead of the ship’s and company’s debut in Alaska, as the Poesia will sail from Seattle for summer 2026.

The MSC Magnifica in 2027 will embark on a 121-night world sailing visiting 45 destinations in 25 countries, marking the debut of the MSC Yacht Club on a global cruise.

Sales have also opened for the MSC Magnifica’s world voyage in 2028, a 115-night journey from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, across the Pacific, through Australasia, Asia and the Arabian Peninsula, before returning to Europe.
