The Port of Rouen closed its 2025 season with the last call on December 17 to 18 by Fred. Olsen’s Balmoral. The port said it had 18 ocean cruise calls and 983 river cruise calls.

The port said that high-end river cruising was a particular highlight, with more upscale vessels (including premium and luxury products) using Rouen as a turnaround or transit port on itineraries connecting Paris and Normandy on the Seine River.

The port also had a number of overnight calls.

Rouen said in a press release that bookings for 2026 already pointed to further growth, with 16 ocean calls and 1,095 river cruise calls scheduled, supported by new river vessels entering service on the Seine.

The port said it has continued to work with a strong base of repeat clients, including:

The port also welcomed the inaugural call of Seabourn’s Sojourn and said the majority of traffic was premium and luxury ships.

According to the port, these figures confirm Rouen’s positioning as an upscale ocean and river destination, attracting companies looking for content‑rich itineraries, extended port stays, and easy access to both Normandy highlights and day trips to Paris, Versailles and Giverny.

Rouen added that it is advancing investments to support this shift, including ongoing improvements to cruise facilities and services tailored to smaller and midsized vessels, which remain the core of its ocean business.
