Norwegian Cruise Line is cancelling a visit to Cozumel onboard the Norwegian Encore due to pier damage.
According to a statement sent to guests onboard the vessel, the visit to the Mexican port that was set to take place on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, is no longer going ahead.
“We have an important update to share. We want to let you know that due to localized pier damage in Cozumel, Mexico, we have replaced the scheduled call with a visit to Falmouth, Jamaica,” the company stated.
“Similar to Cozumel, Falmouth offers a lively Caribbean experience with access to beaches and popular shore excursions, but with a distinctively Jamaican cultural and historical focus,” Norwegian added.
After departing from Miami on Saturday, the Norwegian Encore is currently offering a seven-night cruise to the Western Caribbean.
In addition to Cozumel, the original itinerary featured visits to Harvest Caye in Belize and George Town in the Cayman Islands.
While the new visit to Falmouth is taking place on Wednesday, the stop in George Town will go ahead on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, as planned.
Norwegian said that the itinerary adjustment will allow the vessel to arrive at Grand Cayman two hours earlier than scheduled.
“Whether you’re planning a beach day, a shore excursion or independent exploration, this extra time ashore allows you to make the most of your visit,” the company added.
After departing from PortMiami on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, the Norwegian Encore also visited Harvest Caye on Monday, Dec. 14, 2025.
Norwegian said that shore excursions booked through the company for Cozumel will be automatically cancelled with a full monetary refund set to be credited to guests’ onboard accounts.
“We are so grateful you have chosen to sail with us. We remain at your service and hope you have a wonderful time ashore in Falmouth,” the company stated.
