“It was a really strong Black Friday window for the company,” said John Diorio, vice president of business development, North America at Celestyal Cruises, who noted that the company’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday performance was the cruise line’s best ever.
Now the company’s attention turns to its wave season offer for 2026, which has been live since Dec. 10 and runs through early February.
Extending the wave season sales promotion through early February gives the two-ship company flexibility to decide whether it wants to keep the offer going or take it down and make it not as rich, Diorio said.
The offer includes discounts on the ticket price, cabin upgrades and onboard spending credits.
“We want to create the urgency to book,” Diorio said.
Rates for the company’s summer season in the Mediterranean start at $939 for a seven-night sailing with four-night cruises starting at $499 per person.
Both the Journey and Discovery will reposition to Europe in time for the summer season from the Middle East, where they are sailing this winter.
“North America is a very key market for Celestyal,” he continued. “It’s close to 60 to 65 percent. We’re trying to gain more brand recognition, especially in the travel advisor community.”
The company has also recently revamped and rebranded its travel agent training program, now known as Celestyal Stars.
Agents can progress through four tiers, each with four modules, going from bronze to silver, gold and platinum.
Diorio said the entire program takes about four hours to complete with modules he described as interactive and fun.
“Our focus as a company is all about the North American trade market. Our brand is only going to succeed with the help of the travel advisor community in North America and globally,” Diorio added.
