The AIDAdiva recently crossed the Panama Canal during its world cruise, marking the first time that an AIDA Cruises ship sailed through the canal.

Sailing from the Caribbean to the Pacific, the ship transited the original locks of the Panama Canal on December 6, 2025.

The AIDAdiva is offering a 133-night global voyage that sails to 54 destinations in 27 countries across five continents. The ship sailed from Germany in early November.

Covering 35,000 nautical miles, the cruise started in Hamburg and included a visit to Portland in the United Kingdom before crossing the Atlantic.

The AIDAdiva then made visits to destinations in North America, including Boston, New York City, Charleston and Halifax.

After a visit to Miami, the 2007-built ship sailed to ports in the Caribbean, including Belize City, Cozumel and Puerto Limón.

The vessel then sailed to Colón before transiting the Panama Canal on its way to Punta Arenas in Costa Rica.

Continuing its world cruise, the AIDAdiva is now set to make visits to ports of call in Guatemala and Mexico, as well as California and Hawaii.

The 2007-built ship is then set to cross the Pacific for destinations in Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan and more.

AIDA’s 2025-26 world cruise continues with visits to Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean and Africa before returning to Africa in March.

Before kicking off the global itinerary in November, the AIDAdiva underwent a major refit as part of AIDA’s Evolution program.

The seven-week drydock included the addition of updated technology, upgraded staterooms, new restaurants and expanded entertainment.

Public areas across three decks were redesigned to debut a new look while, staterooms and suites were also refreshed.
