Port Tarragona has ended its 2025 cruise season with a total of 62 calls and 126,348 passengers.
The port has confirmed the 2025 season as the third-best in series, behind 2024 and 2019.
Eighty-eight percent of the business was transit calls, while the remaining 12 percent were for turnarounds. The months with the most arrivals were September and October, with 12 calls each.
The port said in a press release that 2026 is expected to be a new record year with 79 calls. The expected number of passengers is estimated at some 155,000.
The planned growth in the number of calls next year is due to the luxury market’s commitment to Tarragona, specifically Viking, which will go from three calls in 2025 to 17 in 2026, bringing an expected 34,800 cruise passengers.
This represents 22 percent of the total for 2026, Port Tarragona said.
According to the port, MSC will also go from 25 to 32 calls, although it will operate with a smaller vessel.
