Ports of Stockholm announced that cruise traffic continues to increase, with 157 ships expected to call, bringing 300,000 passengers for 2026.

“It’s great to see that demand is picking up again in the Baltic Sea and that the number of cruise ships is steadily increasing,” said Stefan Scheja, marketing manager of ferries and cruises at Ports of Stockholm.

“Occupancy onboard is also high, which means that the number of passengers is rising significantly,” added Scheja.

Cruise ship calls now occur year-round, with the majority of passengers from the German market.

Seven ships will make their maiden call in 2026. The 157 cruise calls are an increase compared with both 2025 and 2024. Twenty-one of the calls will be made at the Port of Nynäshamn, the highest number in many years.

AIDA accounts for the most visits, with 32 calls planned.

Ports of Stockholm added that among this year’s new additions is Explora Journeys, which will call at Stockholm with the Explora III on August for an overnight visit.
