Royal Caribbean International is reintroducing its exclusive beer, the Chilla Thrilla, which was developed in partnership with the Funky Buddha Brewery.

According to a social media update, the Florida-brewed beverage returned in mid-November and is currently available at Royal Caribbean’s private destinations, including Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas.

Guests can also order Chilla Thrilla onboard the company’s ships sailing from U.S. homeports.

Royal Caribbean describes the beer as a “refreshing blonde ale brewed with a splash of mango and guava.”

According to the Funky Buddha Brewery, the pale gold beer has a tropical profile with notes of cereal grain and mango.

The website of the Oakland Park-based producer highlights that the beverage is crafted and packaged exclusively for Royal Caribbean. Chilla Thrilla is available in 355 ml (12 fl. oz.) cans and has 4.5 percent alcohol by volume.

Funky Buddha Brewery states that the beer pairs well with Cuban sandwiches, mango and habanero wings, carnitas tacos, fresh citrus and stone fruits.

Chilla Thrilla was first introduced along with the Perfect Day improvements to CocoCay, which debuted in mid-2019.

At the time, Royal Caribbean and Funky Buddha planned to introduce various labels aimed at capturing different aspects of a day on the island in the Bahamas.

The beer was available for a few months before the cruise industry entered a full shutdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Originally introduced by Royal Caribbean in the 1980s, CocoCay unveiled several new features as part of its $250 million upgrade in 2019.

The private cruise port currently offers a 13-slide waterpark and a zipline, as well as a hot-air balloon ride.

Other features of the island include an adults-only beach club, in addition to an array of beaches and a freshwater lagoon and the largest wave pool in the Caribbean.
