Horizon Global, which includes Horizon Air Freight, Swift Marine & Delver Agents, has announced the appointment of Gal Dayan as chief operating officer.

The company said that the appointment reinforces the group’s focus on operational excellence, technology integration and customer-driven solutions across global marine and cruise logistics.

The news follows the recent appointment of Kasper Diaz Sommer as senior vice president of Global Cruise Logistics, effective November 3, 2025.

Sommer is leading the group’s global cruise logistics strategy, driving growth across Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Horizon said in a statement that Dayan brings more than two decades of international logistics leadership, including senior roles at Apple and UPS.

At Apple, Dayan oversaw global inbound transportation, delivering significant cost efficiencies.

At UPS, he led global transportation procurement and multimodal logistics operations across air, ocean and intermodal networks.

The press release added that in his current role, Dayan oversees worldwide operations, technology enhancement and strategic partnerships to advance efficiency and performance for the group’s marine and cruise logistics clients.
