Costa Cruises has announced its Asia offerings for 2026 that offer guests an immersion into authentic Japan.

After announcing featured destinations between November 2025 and early 2026, the company has expanded its portfolio with two new 11-day itineraries aboard the Costa Serena.

“Our offering in Asia with Costa Serena for 2026 is truly unique in today’s travel landscape: an exclusive opportunity to discover the wonders of the East, from iconic destinations to lesser-known gems,” said Luigi Stefanelli, vice president worldwide of sales at Costa Cruises.

“From Korea to Japan and Southeast Asia, we provide itineraries that combine authenticity, charm and comfort, making extraordinary experiences accessible thanks to our ‘fly and cruise’ formula, which allows guests to reach Asia effortlessly,” added Stefanelli.

Costa said in a press release that the first itinerary, departing June 1, 2026, is a journey across South Korea, Japan and China. After leaving Seoul (Incheon), the ship heads to Busan.

The voyage continues to Japan, with stops in Sasebo, Yatsushiro, Kagoshima and Nagasaki. The journey concludes with an overnight stay in Shanghai.

The second itinerary, departing October 7, 2026, offers an experience in the heart of Japan, from south to north. The ship departs from Tokyo (Yokohama) and sails to Kobe, where guests enjoy an overnight stay.

The cruise continues to Kochi and Kagoshima. Also included is Nagasaki, along with a stop in Busan, Korea. The route then moves on to Kanazawa and ends in Hokkaido (Hakodate).

Onboard highlights include redesigned areas, including a new food court with dining options, revamped pools and outdoor lounges and renewed cabins and suites.

The Costa Serena will continue operating in Asia throughout 2026, alternating two 14-day itineraries: one between Japan, Taiwan and South Korea, and the other between Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei and the Philippines.

The two itineraries can be combined into a single 28-day cruise.

In October 2026, the Costa Serena will offer a world cruise departing from Tokyo on October 18. The 66-day journey will cross Asia, Oceania and South America, visiting 15 countries, 26 destinations and 14 dream islands before concluding in Buenos Aires.

To round off the season, and for the first time, the Costa Serena will also be the official floating hotel for an international sporting event to be held in Japan in the fall.
