PromoAção Eventos held a press conference onboard the MSC Preziosa on Sunday to mark the launch of its 2025-26 season of themed cruises.
Chartering the MSC ship for 45 days, the Brazilian company will offer a series of 14 sailings through early January.
In preparation for the first cruise, a large stage was built on the pool deck of the MSC Preziosa, which will welcome a series of shows from Brazilian singers and bands.
The 140,000-ton vessel remained docked in Santos for two days while the temporary structure was prepared over a 24-hour timeframe.
Hosting a lineup of names from sertanejo music, the first theme cruise was reportedly sold out and departed from the port on Nov. 15, 2025.
“Our purpose is to elevate the fan experience to a new level,” PromoAção’s Managing Director, Bruno Ribeiro, said.
“More than just shows, we deliver community, emotion and a high-standard, safe, comfortable structure with international-class entertainment,” he added.
The company is also offering 13 additional themed sailings, including a special music festival cruise to celebrate New Year’s Eve.
The four-night cruise will include shows from a series of local artists, in addition to a stop in Copacabana for Rio de Janeiro’s traditional firework display.
“Music has always been my passion. And the sea, my refuge. Uniting these two worlds was the way I found to share this magic with all our passengers,” PromoAção’s President Eduardo Cristófaro, said.
According to the company, the first sailing of the season also marked the start of a new partnership with the Rio de Janeiro State Government.
PromoAção stated in a press release that it will work with the governmental agency to integrate its cruises with regional tourism development.
“Themed cruises represent a great opportunity for Rio de Janeiro’s tourism,” Tutuca said, adding that PromoAção is planning 29 visits to the state’s destinations this season.
He added that the calls, which will take place in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Búzios and Angra dos Reis, are expected to generate a significant contribution to Rio’s economy.
“It is a strategic action that reinforces tourism as one of the main drivers of Rio de Janeiro’s economy,” Tutuca explained.
