The Anthem of the Seas recently debuted in Australia ahead of its first winter season in the South Pacific.
Repositioning from Alaska, the 2015-built ship arrived in Sydney in late October, kicking off a series of two- to 18-night cruises aimed at the local market.
The schedule is highlighted by itineraries to destinations across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific islands.
“We’re excited to welcome the Anthem to Sydney and give Australian holidaymakers the chance to experience firsthand the innovative thrills, world-class entertainment, and signature flavors that have made this ship a global favorite,” said Gavin Smith, Royal Caribbean’s vice president and managing director for Australia and New Zealand.
“The return this season cements Royal Caribbean as Australia’s trusted holiday partner to deliver unrivaled experiences for every kind of traveler,” he added.
According to Royal Caribbean, Anthem’s schedule in the region is highlighted by two- to four-night coastal cruises, as well as longer sailings to destinations like Hobart in Tasmania.
As part of its nine- to 12-night cruises to New Zealand, the ship is also set to visit Bay of Islands, Picton, Dunedin and more.
The vessel’s season in Australia comes to an end in mid-April with an 18-night transpacific cruise that ends in Hawaii.
The ship is then set to offer an open-jaw cruise to Seattle ahead of its upcoming summer deployment in Alaska.
In addition to the Anthem of the Seas, Royal Caribbean is also deploying the Voyager of the Seas in Australia this season.
Currently sailing a repositioning voyage around Africa, the 1999-built vessel is set to arrive at its homeport in Brisbane in early December.
Before debuting in Alaska for the summer, the ship offers over 20 sailings from Australia, including a series of two- to 12-night cruises to Queensland and New Zealand.
