The Pier Mauá Cruise Terminal in Rio de Janeiro welcomed the Seabourn Venture for a turnaround operation on November 11, 2025.
Repositioning to Antarctica for the 2025-26 winter, the Seabourn ship arrived at the Brazilian port to kick off a 28-day cruise to Ushuaia, Argentina.
The expedition-focused itinerary features visits to destinations in Brazil and Uruguay, as well as the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and Antarctica.
After departing from Rio, the Venture is scheduled to sail to Paraty, Balneário Camboriú and Montevideo before heading to the Falklands.
The ship will then offer a two-day Seabourn expedition experience in the archipelago, which will be followed by a visit to Port Stanley.
Before arriving in Ushuaia in early December, the itinerary also includes a five-day expedition experience in South Georgia and a six-day expedition experience in the Antarctic Peninsula.
As more ships arrive in South America, the Pier Mauá Cruise Terminal is expecting an increased number of calls starting in late November.
The MSC Fantasia, the Silver Whisper, the Hamburg, the Viking Jupiter, the Celebrity Equinox and the Seven Seas Splendor are among the vessels set to visit Rio over the next few weeks.
In addition to transit calls, the port will also welcome homeport operations from MSC and Costa Cruises, with the MSC Armonia, the MSC Sinfonia and the Costa Favolosa.
The vessels are set to offer a series of three- to nine-night cruises to destinations in Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina, such as Ilhabela, Maceió, Punta del Este and Buenos Aires.
The Scenic Eclipse opened the 2025-26 cruise season in Rio de Janeiro with a transit call on October 11, 2025.
In addition to the Scenic Cruises vessel, the SH Vega and the MSC Preziosa also arrived at the Pier Mauá Cruise Terminal in October.
