The Curacao Tourist Board (CTB) has announced that it held the official opening of the Curacao Information Center to serve cruise and stayover tourists.

The official opening of the Curacao Information Center was conducted by Minister of Economic Development, Roderick Middelhof and CTB Managing Director, Muryad de Bruin.

The information center will provide guests with information and recommendations related to tourist attractions, accommodations, restaurants, transportation options, events and activities in Curacao.

CBT said in a press release that the center is located at Handelskade, across from the ferry terminal.

The counter at the information center is made from recycled plastic, and the benches inside are made from recycled wood, in line with CTB’s efforts to promote sustainable practices.

The center has also been included on the map of refill stations where people can fill their reusable water bottles as part of the Water Refill Program Curacao.

Inside the center, there is a display that illustrates the number of plastic bottles saved, as CTB is a partner of Club 17 Curacao.

The building’s exterior features artwork by local artist Deidre Polonius, designed to reflect what is special about Curacao: vibrant buildings, beaches, marine life, history, heritage, nature and cultural elements.

The information center unofficially opened its doors last June and already served various tourists seeking information.

Next to the information center, a Politur office has also opened to help ensure safety in the downtown area. The Politur office also houses the H2 Care Medical Service Curacao unit to provide medical assistance.

CTB has extended its gratitude to everyone who contributed to the realization of the center. The information center is open from Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

During the high cruise tourism season, as well as on holidays and during special events, the center will also remain open to provide services as needed.
