The AIDAdiva recently departed from the German port of Hamburg to kick off AIDA Cruises’ 133-night World Cruise.
Offering a global voyage for the first time, the vessel will sail a new itinerary that is said to explore more and visit extra ports of call.
Before returning to Hamburg in late March, the AIDAdiva is scheduled to sail to 54 destinations in 27 countries across five continents.
Covering over 35,000 nautical miles, the cruise will also mark AIDA’s first visits to the West Coast of North America, Hawaii and Japan.
Other highlights of the itinerary include the company’s first transit of the Panama Canal and maiden calls on the Pacific Coast of Central America.
The AIDAdiva is also scheduled to mark AIDA’s return to New York City following a six-year hiatus before spending New Year’s Eve in Honolulu, Hawaii.
In addition to ports in North America, Hawaii and the Far East, the four-month-long cruise also includes stops in the Caribbean, Northern Europe, Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean, Africa and the Atlantic Islands.
The ship is expected to return to Hamburg on March 23, 2026, ahead of kicking off a summer deployment in Northern Europe.
Before embarking on its first world cruise, the AIDAdiva underwent a major modernization program as part of the AIDA Evolution initiative.
Cruise Industry News, the 2007-built ship spent seven weeks in drydock while getting new technology, upgraded staterooms, new restaurants and expanded entertainment.
While public areas across three decks were redesigned, new bar and restaurant concepts were added and staterooms were refurbished.
AIDA is also offering a world cruise in 2026-27, with the AIDAsol taking over the itinerary from the AIDAdiva.
In a first for the company, the voyage’s itinerary will focus on the Southern Hemisphere with visits to the Amazon, Australia, the Indian Ocean, South Africa and more.
