Birka Gotland has announced that bookings for its 2026 season destination cruises are open as of today.
The company will offer two cruises to Gdansk, Poland, in the late summer. Departures will sail on August 30 and September 13, 2026, respectively.
It will also extend the Visby season.
The company said in a press release that the Birka Gotland, which mainly sails between Stockholm, Mariehamn and Visby, will offer longer trips to Baltic ports in 2026. These include the High Coast, Bornholm and Riga.
The company added that during the harbor break in Gdansk, guests can choose from a number of excursion packages and combine, for example, the Hanseatic city with the seaside resort Sopot, as well as experience traditional amber craftsmanship and Polish coffee at the Art Nouveau hotel Grand.
“Gdansk has long been in demand by our travelers. Now being able to add one of the Baltic Sea area’s most magnificent cities, also via Visby, makes the cruise a unique experience,” said Daniela Nikander, product manager at Gotland Alandia Cruises.
“After the success of the extended Gotland season in 2025, Birka Gotland will continue with departures from Easter to the beginning of autumn next year as well. New is an investment in more Gotland excursion destinations adapted for families with children,” added Nikander.
“Our new Pelle Svanslös concept that we have during the school holiday periods has attracted even more families with children to discover Birka Gotland,” Nikander noted.
“That is why we are broadening the range ashore with, among other things, Kneippbyn as news for the younger travelers. Of course, we also continue with the popular opportunity to cruise between Mariehamn and Visby.”
The company said that all of Birka Gotland’s destination cruises and excursion packages for the 2026 season are now available for sale.
