“We are conducting an extensive search,” said Harry Sommer, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, commenting on the open president vacancy at Norwegian Cruise Line.

The job has been open since mid August, when David Herrera left the company. At the time, the company announced the departure in an SEC filing with no replacement named.

“We have been very pleased with the caliber of world-class talent,” Sommer continued.

“I’ll say we’re pretty deep into it now. No announcement today or probably in the next week or two. But I hope we’re going to be able to see someone soon. The most important thing for us is to attract a world-class leader that can continue on with the brand promise as we’ve been evolving it certainly over the last few quarters.”

Sommer also pointed to a number of new hires at the NCL brand level, including a new chief marketing officer, a new chief commercial officer, and a new head of technology.
