In 2025, the Port of Yeosu is expecting seven cruise ship calls, bringing in approximately 10,000 passengers, the Tourism Division of Yeosu City told Cruise Industry News.
Yeosu is one of South Korea’s seven major cruise ports, geographically located in the southernmost part of the country, between Busan and Jeju. The port is surrounded by 365 islands.
Although Yeosu is still in the early stages of developing as a cruise port, it has the potential to become a key hub for cruise tourism in Korea, according to the tourism division. Fifteen calls are projected for 2026.
To better accommodate the rising number of cruise passengers, the city is expanding shuttle bus routes that connect key tourist attractions and improving integration with city tour products.
There are also new local cultural experience programs for cruise passengers, such as cooking classes featuring regional cuisine. In addition, there are upgrades coming to the city’s multilingual signage and information systems.
